Between the 20 – 25 May, the annual Chelsea in Bloom event returned to one of London’s most beautiful neighbourhoods to adorn the streets with spectacular floral displays, coinciding with the nearby Chelsea Flowershow.
This year, the Kendu UK team went along to see world class floristry combined with the ‘Under the Sea’ theme, witnessing underwater sculptures blossom into street art. We paid particular attention to the playful shop window displays in some of the world’s most luxury retailers along the Kings Road and Sloane Square.
The event was in partnership with environmental charity, Plastic Oceans UK, to shine a light on and raise funds to tackle plastic pollution. All of the main installations were created without any single-use plastic and visitors had the chance to find out more about the charity's work at a pop-up hub.
If you didn't quite catch the wave this year and missed out on the magnificent mermaids, shoals of colourful fish and entourage of Octopus, be sure to pop the event in your diary for next year. With over 90 shops and restaurants participating, and each year a surprising new theme to follow, it's a visual merchandising inspiration sensation.
This year's winner: Hackett, inspired by Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea.
